MAZDA RECALL - #PLAYINGITSAFE
Mazda has announced a global airbag recall campaign on certain models.
But as Meyer Benjamim, director of Mazda Johannesburg South, puts it, the chances of your car being affected are 0.001 percent.
Even so Mazda – and Mazda Johannesburg South – are playing it safe, and no dangerous cases of airbag deployment have been recorded. Anywhere in the world.
Only Mazda2, Mazda6, and Mazda RX-8 cars built from 2003 are affected, notably those with VIN numbers starting with MM6DE, JM6GG and JMZ5E.
The recall particularly impacts cars equipped with the “PSD-4” driver-side airbag inflator, the “SDI-160” driver side airbag inflator or the “SPI,” “SDI-230” and the “PSP1” passenger-side airbag inflators.
Quite a mouthful – but we at Mazda Johannesburg South have made it easy as pie to find out of your car is affected.
Just email your VIN number to dealer principal Lance Da Silva at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Or better yet simply take a pic of your license disk and mail it to Lance.
Remember, this is nothing to panic about – we're just playing it safe!
